Scarlett was a little easier. I had a better idea of how I would go about it. And, also on the three trips to the craft
store for Raven, I always checked all the departments looking for random items that appealed to me in some fashion. On one
of those visits I found packs of rooster feathers already dyed red. That, then determined the color scheme for my next
mask. I developed an image and sketched it on the canvas. I already had several choices of sequined trim with which to
work. With this piece I added more dimension to the mask by adding raised lines in a scrolling fashion. I decided which
trim I was going to use and added a lucite jewel on the mask.
Scarlett won 1st Place in an exhibition sponsored by GroveHouse Artists in Coconut Grove, FL.
